Welcome

We are a nonprofit located in Northern Arizona.  As licensed bat rehabilitators, we strive to help all bats who are found injured or otherwise needing help. We provide medical care upon intake, we vaccinate all bats for Rabies, and we quarantine for 14 days. Our goal is to treat them feed them and get them strong enough for release again, and when they recover we take them back to their same area for release. If a bat, through impairment or injury, cannot be released we are able to provide forever sanctuary. We also educate people to dispel all the myths and provide correct information and knowledge about these vital creatures.

Arizona is home to roughly 28 to 29 different bat species; both insectivores and pollinators, giving AZ one of the most diverse bat populations in the United States.  

Bats are the only mammal capable of true flight.​

If you like Tequila, thank a bat!  Tequila is produced from agave plants that in the wild rely on bats as their primary pollinators.

The fastest bat in the world is the Mexican Free-tailed Bat, flying in short bursts at speeds up to 100 mph! It is also the most common bat in Arizona. 
 
Bats have hands! The bone structure of a bat wing is similar to a human arm including a shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, a thumb, and 4 fingers! 

Get Involved!

Attend a Bat Walk at the Grand Canyon Deer Farm.

Offer to transport to a rehabber. You don't need to be vaccinated for Rabies although it's a plus if you are.

Donate to your nearest rescue.

Educate yourself and others about bats.
